Community Description | |
In 1997 the doors of Spanish Oaks Retreat opened and a new standard of long-term care began. Spanish Oaks Retreat was developed with the Alzheimer’s patient in mind. The Retreat, as we call it, is designed to have a home-like feel that promotes autonomy while providing the care and safety the Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients need. The facility is 100% secure, yet patients have the ability to move freely throughout the interior of the building and have access to secured outdoor areas. The 36-unit facility is comprised of four wings, and each patient room is private with a complete bathroom. Every wing has its own great room, community TV and lounge area for relaxing and socializing. The Retreat utilizes all four wings of the facility to help individualize patient care, while not prohibiting patient’s mobility. In addition, a large indoor greenhouse brings the beauty of the surrounding grounds into the residents’ daily lives. |
