Community Description | |
Peoples Retirement Community opened it doors in 1988. The idea of Pastor Owen Shackett (of Peoples Church) and his wife Betty saw a need for retirement living in this community. Originally designed for independent living, the need for assisted living quickly became apparent and began slowly admitting residents requiring assistance. A few years later resulted in the first floor, east wing being remodeled to accommodate memory care. Pastor Owen Shackett and his wife Betty became Peoples Retirement Community's first residents and Betty continues to live here to this day. Peoples Retirement Community is a residential environment serving our community and is designed to accommodate active, self sufficient, senior adults, seniors who require modest assistance in order to maintain personal dignity and self reliance as well as a Secured Alzheimer's/Dementia Community. |
