WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?


QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with multi-state payroll.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll/tax laws.
  • Highly analytical with ability to perform complex reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have proven administrative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, composure, approachability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of payroll processes, multi-state payroll taxes, HRIS/Payroll systems & databases.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Kronos Workforce, ADP Enterprise, and ADP Reporting experience preferred.


WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

As the Payroll Specialist, you will provide excellent service & support to meet the needs of employees & management in multi-site operational locations. You will assist in the administration of bi-weekly payroll processes, act as a liaison via phone & email for employees to resolve payroll related inquiries & concerns and provide support with special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Process & audit daily changes including, but not limited to: new hires, terminations, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, & preparation / printing of manual checks as needed.
  • Facilitate resolution for outstanding paychecks 
  • Complete employee verifications
  • Calculate retroactive payments
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Maintain employee payroll files & electronic records
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Prepare reports and provide data analytics for management.
